Wydad’s Injury Crisis Raises Questions Over Medical Staff

Rabat – Wydad are facing a growing crisis as injuries continue to pile up across the squad, raising serious concerns about fitness levels and medical management at a crucial stage of the season.

Over recent months, several key players have been sidelined. Nordin Amrabat and Mohamed Mfid both missed spells before returning, while Hakim Ziyech has been absent from the last two matches.

Defender Amine Aboulfath also suffered an injury but made his comeback in the recent game against Maghreb Fes.

Meanwhile, Walid Sabr, Ayoub Bouchta, and striker Hamza El Hanouri remain unavailable, leaving the team short of options.

The repeated absences have disrupted the rhythm of the squad and unsettled the starting lineup.

At a time when Wydad need stability to recover form, the lack of continuity has contributed to inconsistent performances and mounting pressure on the coaching staff.

Questions over fitness and medical staff

The situation has sparked debate around the club’s medical department and the physical preparation program introduced before the season.

Observers point to a noticeable drop in fitness levels among several players, suggesting that conditioning has not been sufficient to withstand the demands of the campaign.

With injuries striking repeatedly, questions are being asked about whether recovery processes are being rushed and whether the workload is properly managed. For a club competing on multiple fronts, these issues have become hard to ignore.

Wydad now face a two‑fold challenge, bringing injured players back to full fitness while preventing further setbacks.

The team cannot afford more absences as the season heads into its decisive phase. Every match carries weight, and the lack of depth is already affecting results.

Coach Patrice Carteron must balance short‑term needs with long‑term stability. Relying on half‑fit players risks aggravating problems, yet the pressure to deliver wins is constant.
