Rabat – Wydad and Difaa Hassani El Jadida (DHJ) played to a draw yesterday evening in Casablanca, at Donor stadium. Fans left disappointed after a home performance that didn’t meet their expectations.
The game kicked off at a fast pace, with both teams eager to attack and creating some dangerous chances from the outset. It was an open match from the first minutes, with either side capable of breaking the deadlock.
An exciting play came around the 15-minute mark when Zakaria Oubraim delivered a precise cross right into the penalty area. Abdellah Ziani responded with a bicycle kick close to Mehdi Benabid’s goal. showing that DHJ didn’t come to just defend.
Wydad didn’t wait long to hit back. Just two minutes later, Aymen El Wafi rose to meet a cross and scored with a header that kept the pressure on.
The first goal finally came in the 33rd minute. Ramiro Vaca managed to find some space outside the box and sent a superb shot that beat the goalkeeper. That put Wydad ahead after an exciting first half.
The second half followed the same script, with both teams out to score but failing to find the net. Wydad, in particular, struggled to capitalize on Difaa El Jadida more open play after conceding, repeatedly squandering their chances.
The decisive turning point came in the 75th minute. The referee awarded a penalty after a tackle in the box. Mouad Mouchtanim stepped up and converted it into a goal , bringing Difaa El Jadida back into the game.
The match ended in a draw., a fair result given the chances both sides missed. Difaa El Jadida will be satisfied to take a valuable point home from Donor; they’re now 7th with 21 points. Wydad climbed to 3rd with 30 points, which puts them level with Raja Casablanca and AS FAR, with one game still in hand.
