The WNBA is bringing the All-Star game back to Chicago in 2026. The league confirmed the news Thursday, marking the second time the city will host the event.

WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert said she was “thrilled” to bring the game back to Chicago in 2026.

“The WNBA is thrilled to welcome. the 2026 WNBA All-Star back to Chicago, which will undoubtedly deliver unforgettable competition and community outreach. Together with the Chicago Sky, we look forward to celebrating the game’s brightest stars, engaging WNBA fans around the world, and showcasing the energy of one of basketball’s most iconic cities.”

The 2026 WNBA All-Star game will take place Saturday, July 25 at the United Center. It won’t be the only WNBA event to take place in Chicago that weekend. Both the 3-point Contest and WNBA Skills Challenge will also be held in the city. Both events will take place Friday, July 24.

The league said a full schedule of the events would be released at a later date. Fans who want to attend the 2026 All-Star festivities won’t be able to purchase tickets until next year. The WNBA did not announce an exact date when tickets would be available.

The city last held the event in 2022, when Team Wilson defeated Team Stewart 134-112. Kelsey Plum was named the MVP in that contest.

    This story will be updated.
