Rabat – A road accident in Morocco’s El Jadida province left six people dead and eight others injured on Wednesday afternoon, according to local authorities.

The victims include three women. The crash occurred on provincial road No. 3443 near Douar Al-Houanta in the commune of Ouled Rahmoun.

Authorities said the accident involved a large vehicle that transported 14 agricultural workers. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then left the road and overturned along the roadside.

Local authorities, Royal Gendarmerie units, and Civil Protection teams quickly arrived at the scene after the alert.

Emergency services transported the injured to Mohammed V Provincial Hospital in El Jadida as well as the local hospital in Azemmour, where medical teams provided the necessary care.

The Royal Gendarmerie opened an investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the circumstances behind the crash and establish responsibility.
