Rabat  – Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has warned that unstable weather conditions will continue to affect several parts of the country, bringing heavy rain and sometimes strong winds.

According to the weather authority, rainfall and showers are expected to continue in the northwest of the country until Tuesday next week. Weather conditions are expected to gradually stabilize starting Wednesday, with occasionally cloudy skies over the far northwest.

Rainy weather accompanied by winds is expected in several regions today. Locally heavy rain and showers will affect the Rif, Loukkos, Tangier area, and the northern northwest. Mostly cloudy skies with rainfall are also expected in the southwest, Saiss, the High Atlas, Middle Atlas, the Ouled Abdoun and Ganntour basins and Oulmes.

Moderate to fairly strong winds are forecast in Tangier, plains north of Essaouira, Saiss, the Rif, the Mediterranean coast, the Atlas regions, and to the east. 

Maximum temperatures will range between 2 and 10°C in the Atlas Mountains, 6 to 13°C in the Rif, and 27 to 33°C in the far south and southeast. While in other regions, temperatures will range between 14 and 19°C.

Rainy and windy conditions will continue on Thursday. Significant rainfall is expected in the Rif, Tangier area, Loukkos, Gharb, and Saiss, with rain also forecast in the Middle Atlas and nearby western areas, Oulmes, and locally in the northern plains.

Winds will remain moderate to fairly strong in the north, Rif, Atlas regions, and the east, with continued dust in the eastern areas and the far south. Minimum temperatures will range from -1 to 5°C in the Atlas, and between 4 and 10°C in the Rif and high plateaus. A slight rise in daytime temperatures is expected.

Unstable weather will persist on Friday, with rain and showers affecting the Rif, the Atlas Mountains and nearby western regions, northern eastern areas, and northern and central regions.

Snowfall is expected in the Atlas Mountains, while partly cloudy skies are forecast in the north of the southern provinces. Winds will be relatively strong, with sometimes strong gusts in the northern and central parts of the country, along with a drop in daytime temperatures.

Rain and showers are expected to continue in the northwest until Tuesday next week, with the weather becoming partly cloudy at times over the far northwest on Wednesday.

Moderate to strong winds will persist in several regions, particularly Tangier, the Rif, the Atlas Mountains, the eastern region, northern coasts, and the upper-southern provinces. 

The DGM expects a slight general rise in daytime temperatures in these regions, with cooling at night.
