Rabat – Senegal have qualified for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 after a narrow 1–0 win over Egypt at Ibn Batouta Stadium.

The only goal came in the 78th minute. Sadio Mané picked up the ball outside the box and fired a low shot with his right foot into the bottom left corner. The goal gave Senegal the lead and frustrated Egypt, who had stayed compact and defended deep from the start.

Senegal dominated the match with 67% possession and 12 total shots, while Egypt had only 2 shots and 33% possession. Egypt tried to hit on the counter but struggled to break through Senegal’s defense. The Pharaohs stayed organized but couldn’t create any big chances.

Mane’s goal was enough to send the Lions of Teranga to the final. The team showed patience and kept pushing until they found the breakthrough. Egypt had no answer and couldn’t recover.

Senegal will now wait to face the winner of Morocco vs Nigeria, who play later tonight. The final will be held on Sunday.

Senegal won their first AFCON title in 2021, and now they aim to repeat that success. The team looks focused and determined to lift the trophy again.

Egypt will play in the third-place match on Saturday. They missed the chance to reach their ninth final and will now look to finish the tournament with a win.
