Seahawks C Olu Oluwatimi misses practice, but RB Ken Walker returns

The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up this week to take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Lumen Field for their second preseason game. Seattle tied the Las Vegas Raiders last week 23-23, so they are still seeking their first exhibition victory this summer.

On Tuesday’s practice, a bit of a mixed bag health wise. Starting with the bad news first, center Olu Oluwatimi is sitting out per ESPN’s Brady Henderson. Oluwatimi was the starter for the Seahawks following Connor Williams’ surprise retirement last season, and obviously remains in the mix to retain his role for 2025.

The good news is starting running back Kenneth Walker III did return to practice on Tuesday after missing several last week. At this point it is unknown if Walker will see any kind of action against the Chiefs on Friday night. When the preseason was four games, the third game was typically known as the “dress rehearsal” before the regular season. Now that there are only three games, Week 2 has sort of adopted that role to a degree.

Still, I can’t imagine Mike Macdonald and Klint Kubiak will want to risk Walker getting any kind of injury this early in the season, given how crucial he will be to their offensive plans this year. Needless to say, Walker is not in any danger of not making the final roster cuts later in August.
