Rabat – RS Berkane officially announced on Tuesday the signing of Moroccan goalkeeper Anas Zniti during the current winter transfer window. The deal runs until the end of the 2025-26 season.
The club said in a statement: “RS Berkane officially welcomes goalkeeper Anas Zniti, who joins the team until the end of the current season. We wish him success and the best of luck with the Orange family.”
Zniti returns to the Moroccan league after a short spell with Al‑Wasl in the UAE. Before that, he spent nine years with Raja Club Athletic, where he became one of the most decorated goalkeepers in Moroccan football.
During his long spell with Raja Club Athletic, Anas Zniti built one of the most impressive records for a Moroccan goalkeeper.
He was central to the team’s success in continental competitions, winning the CAF Confederation Cup twice, first in 2018 and again in 2021.
On the domestic front, Zniti helped Raja secure two Botola Pro titles, in the 2019-20 and 2023-24 seasons. His consistency and leadership also played a role in lifting the Moroccan Throne Cup twice, in 2016-17 and 2023-24.
Beyond league and cup triumphs, Zniti’s illustrious career also boasts international silverware. He won the CAF Super Cup in 2019, a key moment of Raja’s continental run, and later celebrated victory in the Mohammed VI Arab Champions Cup in 2021, further cementing his reputation as one of the most decorated Moroccan goalkeepers of his generation.
Zniti also previously played for Maghreb Fez, where he began his professional career and won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2011.
His signing comes at a crucial time for Berkane, as first‑choice goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi is sidelined with an injury picked up during the Africa Cup of Nations. Zniti is expected to bring experience and stability to the squad as they push through the second half of the season.
