Rabat – Wydad Casablanca fell after a (2-1) home defeat to Union Yaacoub El Mansour in Matchday 17 of the Moroccan league. USYM returned to Rabat with all three points, keeping their hopes up to continue in the Botola Pro.
In Donor, Union Yaacoub El Mansour deepened Wydad’s wounds after winning (2-1). The Reds took the lead by scoring a header from Salah Eddine Moussadaq in the 13th-minute. However, the visitors completed a comeback just past the hour mark, with two quick goals, a header from Zakaria Fati and an own goal by defender Amine Abou El Fath, snatching an important win after a nine-match winless run.
This victory marks USYM’s first in 2026, taking them to 11 points, though they remain second from bottom, with the danger of relegation still hanging.
Meanwhile, Wydad are still searching for their first win under French coach Patrice Carteron. He recorded three defeats and two draws so far. While the club still remains fourth place with 31 points in hand.
Fans made their way back home frustrated, with chants and calls demanding the removal of Hicham Ait Menna, in the hope of being rescued from a trophyless season.
