Casablanca – The trial linked to the extortion complaint filed by Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred stretched into a fourth day in a Paris court, after judges unexpectedly decided to reopen discussions following new documents presented in the case.

According to ET in Arabic, the hearing had initially been expected to wrap up earlier this week. But the emergence of fresh material tied to the main suspect led the judge to call her back for further questioning, extending proceedings and adding new tension inside the courtroom.

By the end of the fourth day, the public prosecutor requested a one-year suspended prison sentence for the main accused, along with a fine of €20,000. Her mother is facing 18 months suspended and a €10,000 fine.

More notably, lawyer Aissatou F is now at the center of the case. Prosecutors asked for a three-year sentence, including one year to be served under electronic monitoring, plus a €50,000 fine. They also called for her permanent ban from practicing law or holding any public position.

Other defendants were also named. Cyril F could receive a one-year suspended sentence. Seko M faces one year in prison and a €20,000 fine, while Ophelie F risks eight months suspended.

The case has seen messy exchanges and shifting accusations. On the third day, tensions were already high, with reported mistakes by the defense. The woman at the center of the case filed a complaint against her own lawyer, accusing her of breach of trust.

In response, the lawyer pointed to Sekou M, currently in custody in a separate rape case, claiming he orchestrated the scheme by passing along contact details and involving others in an attempt to secure part of a €3 million demand from Lamjarred.

Lamjarred, seated with his wife, maintained a firm stance. He told the court he would never agree to pay, referencing years spent fighting previous accusations in France.

His lawyers said the new elements weaken the claims against him. A final ruling is expected in the coming days.
