    New Weather Alert Expects Strong Thunderstorms in Morocco Until Sunday

    Rabat – Morocco’s General Meteorology Directorate (DGM) forecasts strong thunderstorms and snowfall to hit several provinces from Friday to Sunday.

    The weather authority said thunderstorms between 25 and 35 millimeters are expected to affect the provinces of Marrakech, El Kelaa Sraghna, Chichaoua, Al Haouz and Settat from Friday 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.

    The same weather, with a risk of hail, will also concern Khouribga, Taroudant, Khenifra, Benslimane, Fquih Ben Salah, Youssoufia, Khemisset, and Rehamna.

    On Saturday the same thunderstorms will affect other regions, including Taza, Figuig, Jerada, Taourirt, Boulemane, Guercif, and Taroudante from Saturday 2 a.m. until 8 p.m.

    In regards to snowfall,  accumulations are expected to reach between 10 and 20 centimeters at elevations above 1,800 meters in the provinces of Midelt, Khenifra, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz, and Tinghir on Saturday and Sunday.
