Rabat – Security officers from the Anti-Gang Unit of the Regional Police in Nador arrested a 37-year-old repeat offender today on suspicion of involvement in the possession and distribution of hard drugs and psychotropic substances.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended in flagrante delicto while carrying and selling quantities of hard drugs.
A search operation at his residence in Nador led to the seizure of 5 kilograms of heroin and 900 grams of cocaine.
Police also confiscated a vehicle and a sum of money believed to be proceeds of illicit drug activity.
The suspect has been placed in police custody pending a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office.
The inquiry aims to identify potential accomplices, trace the wider network behind the trafficking operations, and clarify all criminal acts attributed to the individual.
This comes as Morocco continues to intensify efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks across the country, with security services conducting increasingly coordinated operations.
Authorities stress that these drug busts are part of an ongoing nationwide approach aimed at limiting the circulation of dangerous substances and dismantling the financial structures that sustain illicit trafficking.
