Agadir– Morocco’s Ministry of Justice has officially joined the National Portal for the Right to Access Information (PNDAI) to enhance transparency and digital modernization.
Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi and Omar El Fallah Seghrouchni, President of the Commission for the Right to Access Information (CDAI), signed the agreement on Tuesday at the ministry’s headquarters in Rabat.
The PNDAI is an official digital platform managed by the CDAI. It provides citizens and legally resident foreigners in Morocco with a centralized, user-friendly system to request public information from government institutions.
The platform enables users to submit formal information requests, track their progress, and file complaints if they encounter delays, refusals, or incomplete responses.
The platform also equips public institutions with tools to efficiently manage and respond to these requests, ensuring compliance with Law No. 31.13, which regulates the right to access information in Morocco.
PNDAI also provides users with statistics and performance indicators, such as response times and request volumes, helping authorities pinpoint areas for improvement, enhance service quality, and make the overall access-to-information system more transparent, accountable, and effective.
“The Ministry of Justice’s engagement with the PNDAI reflects a clear institutional commitment to making transparency a core principle in the judicial service,” Minister Ouahbi said.
“It brings information closer to citizens in a responsible and efficient manner, enhancing trust in justice and supporting the comprehensive reform process undergoing in our country,” the minister added.
For his part, Seghrouchni underlined the significance of the agreement, noting that “signing is highly significant and complements the previous accessions of both the Supreme Council of the Judiciary and the Public Prosecution to implement the right to access information in courts (as stipulated in Article 2) at all levels.”
“This is a very important step in favor of citizens and legally resident foreigners in Morocco,” Seghrouchni added.
Morocco has steadily advanced its efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and citizen access to public information. Through initiatives like PNDAI and reforms in the judicial and administrative sectors, the North African country has worked to make government processes more accessible to citizens.
