Casablanca – Morocco’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector continues to expand as digital services become more embedded in everyday business and public life.
A recent Mordor Intelligence report estimates the country’s ICT market will reach about $6.95 billion in 2025. Growth is expected to continue over the rest of the decade, with the market projected to reach approximately $10.08 billion by 2031. That represents an average annual growth rate of roughly 6.37% during the period.
The sector covers a wide range of activities. Telecommunications services remain a major part of the market, alongside software, IT services, and hardware. Together, these technologies support everything from mobile connectivity and internet access to the digital tools companies use to run their operations.
Across Morocco, more businesses are relying on technology to manage daily work. Companies use software to organize data, communicate with teams, and reach customers online. Digital payments, online platforms, and cloud services are becoming more common.
This shift is visible across many industries. Banks, retailers, logistics companies, and manufacturers are all increasing their use of digital systems. In many cases, technology is no longer an extra tool. It is part of how the business runs.
The growth of internet use has also played a role. As more people connect online through smartphones and home internet services, demand for digital platforms and reliable networks continues to rise.
Telecommunications companies remain central to this ecosystem. Mobile services and internet connectivity form the backbone of the country’s digital infrastructure, supporting both businesses and consumers.
Expanding digital infrastructure
Much of the sector’s growth is tied to the continued expansion of Morocco’s digital infrastructure.
Companies are investing more in servers, data systems, and communication networks to support their operations. IT services play an important role here. These services help organizations install new systems, maintain networks, and manage digital platforms.
Large companies currently account for a significant share of ICT spending. Their operations often depend on complex networks and large amounts of data, which require reliable technology systems.
At the same time, smaller businesses are gradually increasing their use of digital tools. Many small and medium-sized companies are adopting online platforms, cloud services, and digital management systems as technology becomes easier to access.
Government programs aimed at expanding digital services have also contributed to the sector’s growth. Public initiatives focused on technology adoption and digital infrastructure are encouraging wider use of ICT across the economy.
Taken together, these trends show how technology is becoming a central part of Morocco’s economic landscape. From mobile networks to enterprise software, digital tools are now woven into how companies operate, how services are delivered, and how people connect.
