Rabat – Moroccan Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch arrived in Cairo this evening, heading a high-level delegation to inaugurate the first session of the Egypt-Morocco Joint Coordination and Follow-up Committee.

He was received at Cairo International Airport by Egyptian Head of Government Mostafa Madbouly in a formal ceremony marking the start of his official visit.

Upon arrival, Akhannouch was welcomed with an official reception that included a guard of honor and the playing of the national anthems of both Morocco and Egypt, in line with protocol reported by Egyptian media outlets.

The ceremony was attended by Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade and head of the official delegation, as well as Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt Mohamed Ait Ouali.

During his visit, Akhannouch is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Madbouly at the government headquarters in the new administrative capital.

Following the talks, the two leaders will preside over an expanded session of the Joint Coordination and Follow-up Committee, attended by delegations from both countries.

The visit will also include the signing of several agreements across multiple sectors aimed at strengthening political, economic, and social cooperation between Morocco and Egypt.
