Rabat – Morocco is set to strengthen its industrial landscape with the development of three new industrial zones in the Casablanca-Settat region.

The agreements cover the establishment of three industrial zones totaling 1,144 hectares. Mohammedia will host a 660-hectare industrial zone, developed in three phases, while Benslimane province will receive two zones: Moualine El Oued (350 hectares) and Ain Tizgha (134 hectares).

The projects align with royal directives to boost Morocco’s productive capacity and industrial sovereignty.

Partnership agreements for the projects were signed on Saturday at the Wilaya headquarters, in a ceremony attended by Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour, Wali of Casablanca-Settat Mohamed Mhidia, Regional Council President Abdellatif Maazouz, and several governors and officials.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Mezzour said that these zones are expected to create over 35,000 jobs and respond to rising demand for industrial and logistics land in the region.

President Maazouz described the initiative as a major step in expanding industrial zones across Casablanca-Settat. He also noted that these projects will attract many investors through industrial land at competitive rates.

MEDZ, a subsidiary of the CDG Group, is leading the implementation in collaboration with the ministries of industry, economy, regional authorities, urban agencies, and the provinces concerned.

MEDZ General Manager Marouane Abdelati said that the first phases of development are expected to generate around 20,000 jobs, pointing to the significant impact on Morocco’s industrial and economic growth as a competitive industrial hub.
