Agadir – Morocco’s Minister of Tourism, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, announced on Monday the signing of three new contracts to support tourism projects under the national program Go Siyaha.

The projects are located in Dakhla, Boujdour, and Tarfaya, and provide financial support for a range of tourism activities such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, and quad biking, alongside other initiatives aimed at “showcasing Morocco’s Sahara heritage,” Ammor noted.

“These projects will contribute to diversifying the tourism offering and will create more than 150 direct and indirect jobs,” the minister said.

Go Siyaha is a support program launched in Morocco as part of the national effort to strengthen and modernize the tourism sector.

It is implemented by the Morocco SME Agency under the Ministry of Tourism, aiming to support tourism businesses in developing innovative and diversified offers, particularly in entertainment, while also encouraging more sustainable and competitive practices.

Through this initiative, Morocco seeks to enhance the overall quality of its tourism offering and stimulate investment in new and existing projects across different regions of the country.

According to the ministry, the objective of this initiative by 2026 is to support 1,700 tourism businesses and sustainably transform Morocco’s tourism offering.

“These developments demonstrate our commitment to continuously adapting to the needs of entrepreneurs. We are strengthening Go Siyaha so that it can support all Moroccan talent in creating innovative animation projects, perfectly adapted to the potential of each region,” said  Ammor during the launch of the program’s second phase.

In addition to financially assisting projects to boost tourism, Morocco is also strengthening air connectivity through the launch of easyJet’s first African base at Marrakech-Menara Airport on April 13.

The new hub marks a major expansion of the airline’s operations in the country, backed by a strategic partnership signed last year.

The base, equipped with three Airbus aircraft and backed by an investment exceeding €300 million, is expected to significantly increase capacity, offering up to 4 million seats in its first year and expanding its network to 58 routes across Morocco.
