Rabat – Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, led by Director General Abdellatif Hammouchi, inaugurated today the Higher Institute for Security Sciences in Ifrane.

The new institute, which aims to strengthen and modernize police training in the country, is part of Morocco’s vision to develop modern police training programs that meet current security challenges.

It will work alongside the Royal Police Institute in Kenitra and regional police schools to offer training courses, workshops, and international partnerships aimed at developing security leadership and strengthening officers’ skills.

The inauguration was attended by national and international partners in academic and police training, including Dr. Abdul Majeed bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in Saudi Arabia, and Major General Rashid Mohammed Borshid, Director of the Saif bin Zayed Academy for Security and Police Sciences in Abu Dhabi. Several Moroccan university leaders and officials were also present.

The main goal of the institute is to prepare security professionals with advanced technical skills and proactive approaches. Training programs will integrate scientific knowledge with practical field experience, emphasizing human rights, citizen freedoms, and professional ethics. The curriculum will also focus on new technologies, artificial intelligence, digitalization, and modern security tools.

In addition, the Higher Institute for Security Sciences has signed a partnership agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. The collaboration will focus on joint research, academic programs, training workshops, and regional initiatives to prevent and combat crime, while building a network of experts and researchers in the Arab world.

The institute is equipped with modern facilities, including language and translation centers, sports areas, accommodation, a medical clinic, and simulation rooms for shooting and tactical interventions, providing an integrated learning and training environment.
