Rabat – Judicial police officers from the Marrakech Security Directorate, working alongside the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), seized 17,586 psychotropic pills today.

The police also arrested four individuals aged between 20 and 40 on suspicion of drug possession and trafficking.

According to security sources, the operation targeted multiple neighborhoods across Marrakech, leading to the suspects being caught in possession of the drugs.

The subsequent search also resulted in the confiscation of two vehicles reportedly used to facilitate the illicit activity.

A check of the suspects against the National Security database revealed that one of the individuals was already wanted nationwide for involvement in similar cases of drug trafficking and psychotropic substance distribution.

The suspects have been placed under judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor.

Authorities are working to identify additional networks linked to the operation and to apprehend any other individuals involved in the criminal activity.
