Rabat – Tom Saintfiet, the Belgian coach of Mali, hailed Morocco’s preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

He stressed the quality of the country’s infrastructure, saying that the modern stadiums, training facilities, and hotels create ideal conditions for all participating teams to perform at their best.

Saintfiet noted that Morocco will enjoy a natural advantage by hosting the competition. Playing at home, with strong support from local fans, gives the Atlas Lions extra motivation.

He described Morocco as one of the strongest teams not only in Africa but also on the global stage, pointing to their recent performances as proof of their quality.

Speaking about Mali’s group, the coach stressed that the competition is balanced. He believes all four teams have a fair chance to progress, which makes respecting every opponent essential.

For him, success will depend on discipline and focus, as no team can be underestimated in such a high-level tournament.

Mali’s campaign begins on December 22 against Zambia at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca. Four days later, they face Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, a match that could be decisive for both sides.

The group stage concludes on December 29, when Mali meet Comoros again in Casablanca.
