Rabat – King Mohammed VI has extended his congratulations to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day.

The monarch expressed his heartfelt message, conveying his best wishes to the Saudi people for continuous progress and prosperity under the Saudi “wise” leadership.

The national holiday represents Saudi Arabia’s historical roots when Imam Muhammad bin Saud established the first Saudi state in 1727, according to the government.

Morocco and Saudi Arabia enjoy good diplomatic ties, with the two countries exchanging regular visits committed to boosting ties in various sectors.

Saudi Arabia is among the countries that support Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern provinces in Western Sahara.

The two countries also share good trade ties.

Bilateral trade increased from 228% $1.33 billion in 2021 to $4.37 billion in 2022.

Additionally, the latest data from last year shows Morocco ranking 26th among Saudi Arabia’s expert trading partners and 38th for imports.

The exchange is primarily driven by oil and petrochemical products from Saudi Arabia.

Moroccan exports include agricultural and fisheries products, automotive parts, and textiles, among others.

In June of last year, a high-level delegation from the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce visited Morocco, with over 30 Saudi investors and representatives from different government agencies.

The visit aimed to strengthen economic cooperation and explore new investment opportunities between Rabat and Riyadh.
