Rabat – King Mohammed VI has congratulated Mohamed Chaouki on his election as President of the National Rally of Independents (RNI).
The monarch sent his “warm congratulations” in a message today, wishing the politician “every success in carrying out your new responsibilities as the head of the party.”
He said the politician’s election reflects the confidence that the party’s members placed in Chaouki, as well as his “strong sense of patriotism “ and experience
“These are all assets that will enable you to advance the party’s work and its contribution-alongside all political formations and institutions-to serving the public interest and defending the supreme interests of the Nation and its citizens, while remaining firmly attached to the Nation’s constants and sacred values,” the King said.
The monarch also expressed appreciation to ormer RNI head, Aziz Akhannouch.
Last week in El Jadida, RNI announced Chaouki as the new leader for RNI, replacing Akhannouch, who decided not to run for another mandate.
The King said he appreciates Akhannouch as a “loyal servant” and the efforts he deployed “with a strong sense of responsibility and sincere patriotism to consolidate and strengthen the political presence of the National Rally of Independents.”
The monarch also called on Chaouki to convey his congratulations to all party members.
For his part, Chaouki expressed deep appreciation for the confidence shown in him by the RNI delegates, stressing that he understands the magnitude of the responsibility and the weight of the task.
He said the confidence “represents a doubled trust and a clear commitment to honoring the legacy of a historic party that has never been a mere footnote in Morocco’s political history.”
