The Jordanian national team delivered exactly the performance they needed, booking their spot in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 with a deserved 3–1 win over Kuwait on Saturday at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Al-Rayyan.
From the opening minutes, the Nashama looked sharper and it didn’t take long for that momentum to turn into something concrete. In the 17th minute, Mohannad Abu Taha broke the deadlock with a clean left-footed strike from outside the area.
When the teams returned from the break, Jordan pushed even harder, and they were rewarded almost immediately. Just four minutes into the second half, Saed Al Rosan doubled the lead, putting Kuwait under real pressure and giving Jordan breathing space as they controlled the rhythm of the match.
Kuwait attempted to fight back and managed to reduce the deficit in the 84th minute through Yousef Al-Sulaiman, but the late spark didn’t change much. Jordan stayed composed, and deep into stoppage time, Ali Olwan calmly slotted home a penalty to seal a 3–1 result and with it, a place in the last eight.
This win comes on the back of Jordan’s strong start to the tournament, following their 2–1 win over the UAE earlier in the week. With two straight wins, the Nashama finish their group campaign with authority.
Now Jordan will face either the winner of Group D or the Runner-up of Group D in the quarter-finals, depending on the third group match in a few days.
