Rabat – Israel’s most-recent attack killed 23 Palestinians across Gaza, including children, with the number reportedly rising, in a series of continued violations against the October ceasefire.
The Israel Occupation Forces (IOF) claim their attack came in response to a shooting of a reserve officer in occupied Northern Gaza. The officer was evacuated and the IOF has since retaliated fiercely, carrying out air strikes and tank fire.
Following the attacks, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said Israel informed them Wednesday that the third set of Palestinian patients intended to evacuate through the Rafah crossing was canceled, though that decision was reversed shortly after with evacuations resuming today.
Only five Palestinians were allowed to cross to Egypt on Monday, and only 16 on Tuesday. These numbers come in stark contract to what Israeli officials has originally promised: that said 50 Palestinians would be permitted to leave daily.
Evacuations are largely intended to allow sick and wounded Palestinians to receive treatment at Egyptian hospitals or elsewhere. According to Gaza health officials, at least 18,000 Palestinians are waiting to be medically evacuated, 440 of whom are in need of critical attention.
Israel claims that the World Health Organization (WHO), which is in charge of organizing the arrival of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to the Rafah Crossing did not submit the necessary coordination details. However, WHO has made no response to these claims.
After weeks of delay, Israel finally reopened the critical Rafah Crossing on Monday under strict restrictions. Only Palestinians who left during the genocide and pass extreme security vetting are allowed to return. Those allowed to return described horrendous treatment, including being blindfolded, interrogated, and in some cases, sexually harassed on their return trip.
Despite a “ceasefire,” Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that Israel ahs killed 506 Palestinians since the United States-brokered deal in October 2025.
