Iran Confirms Death of IRGC Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri

Agadir– Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officially confirmed today that Alireza Tangsiri, commander of its naval forces, died after sustaining severe injuries.

Last week, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israeli forces killed Tangsiri in an overnight airstrike, and that the operation also killed senior naval officers. He claimed that Tangsiri is the one responsible for many “terrorist” operations and blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian authorities however did not confirm his death at the time of the Israeli announcement.

Trump signals progress in talks but warns of strikes

The US -Israel – Iran war continues after US and Israel carried out a joint strike against Iran on February 28, targeting Tehran and several Iranian cities. The strikes killed Iran’s then‑Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei along with other military commanders and civilians.

US President Trump claims negotiations are taking place to resolve the war, all while continuing to threaten Iran with worse results if it does not accept US conditions.

“The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran. Great progress has been made,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

He also warned that if a deal is not reached soon and the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened for commercial shipping, the US would “blow up and completely obliterate all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet ‘touched.’”

“This will be in retribution for our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed over the old Regime’s 47 year “Reign of Terror”,” he threatened.
