Rabat — Hakim Ziyech officially rejoined first-team training with Wydad AC today following a two-week injury layoff, providing a significant boost to the squad as they prepare for their upcoming clash against Kawkab Marrakech.
The highly anticipated game will take place at Marrakech Stadium on Saturday, as part of Round 16 of the Botola Pro, with both teams aiming to secure three points and regain their winning momentum.
Ziyech was sidelined after sustaining a muscle injury during the first half of Wydad’s match against FUS Rabat earlier this month, forcing him to miss recent league encounters and requiring a brief period of recovery to ensure a safe return to the pitch.
Following a successful rehabilitation program, the playmaker rejoined full group training this Monday. His return is a timely boost for the squad as he is now fit and ready to participate in the upcoming matchday.
Since joining Wydad AC as a free agent in October 2025, Ziyech has made eight appearances across all competitions. And he has remained highly effective despite dealing with a few minor injuries, scoring three goals and providing one assist so far this season.
In the two teams’ first meeting in September 2025 in Casablanca, Wydad secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kawkab Marrakech, highlighting the league’s high competitiveness from early this season.
Wydad AC currently holds fourth place with 30 points, keeping them close to the top of the league. Kawkab Marrakech meanwhile sits 10th with 16 points, which means they are looking for a win to move into the upper half of the standings.
