Rabat – Morocco is driving a transformative agenda for Africa’s digital future, positioning the continent as a hub for competitive, inclusive, and sustainable tech growth.
Next week, Marrakech will host Africa’s largest tech and startup gathering, spotlighting the accelerating pace of AI innovation across the continent.
The 4th edition of GITEX Africa Morocco, running from April 7-9, will feature over 1,450 companies and startups, attracting participants from more than 130 countries.
This year marks a wider international reach, with new delegations from Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Guinea, Hungary, Luxembourg, Thailand, and Zambia joining the event.

Speaking at the press conference, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, minister delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, stressed the transformative impact of GITEX Africa on Morocco’s tech ecosystem.
“For us, GITEX is not just an exhibition, it is a major opportunity to develop digitalization and artificial intelligence in Morocco, to support startups, and to showcase the capabilities of our youth to the world,” she said.
El Fallah Seghrouchni highlighted how the event reflects the Royal High Directives to use digital transformation as a lever for social inclusion, economic growth, and international cooperation.
She emphasized the importance of engaging young entrepreneurs, fostering innovative projects, and creating opportunities for Moroccan startups to scale their solutions globally.
For his part, Richard Brook, Vice President of GITEX Africa, described the event as a “super connector for digital transformation.”
He pointed to the scale and ambition of the upcoming edition, stating, “We’re bringing over 1,450 exhibiting companies to Marrakech, alongside 400 investors from more than 40 countries, to explore Moroccan startups and discover the next innovations shaping trade, government, and society.”
Echoing El Fallah Seghrouchni’s remarks, Brook emphasized that GITEX Africa is more than an exhibition, but a platform for accelerating digital development across the continent and linking African innovation to global markets.
He noted that the event will also provide opportunities for knowledge exchange, partnerships, and collaboration between Moroccan startups and international investors.
Amine El Mezouaghi, Director General of the Digital Development Agency, framed GITEX Africa 2026 as a strategic platform for Morocco’s national digital priorities.

He highlighted the event’s alignment with Morocco’s broader vision to strengthen its role as a digital leader in Africa while supporting entrepreneurial growth: “GITEX Africa allows us to showcase Morocco’s growing role as a digital hub, support startups, and strengthen partnerships across Africa while advancing national digital transformation strategies.”
Organizers also highlighted the global nature of the event, with strong representation from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and the inclusion of countries attending GITEX Africa for the first time.
This international presence is expected to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange while opening Moroccan and African companies to new markets and technologies.
Welcome to GITEX Africa 2026
After a record-breaking 2025, when African startups secured US$3.9 billion (MAD 40 billion) in funding, GITEX Africa Morocco is spotlighting the continent’s next wave of high-growth ventures through “North Star Africa,” the largest startup showcase in Africa.
The program offers scale-up support, talent academies, diaspora engagement, and hands-on training workshops, giving over 800 local and international startups the opportunity to pitch, grow, and attract funding.
More than 400 global investors from 40+ countries, collectively managing $350 billion (MAD 3.5 trillion) in assets, will be on the ground seeking investment-ready ventures poised for continental and global expansion.
A targeted programme will also boost visibility and growth for Morocco’s top innovators.
In partnership with the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, the expanded “Morocco 300” initiative increased participation by 50% from last year, giving local companies and startups a platform to showcase solutions, connect with investors, and engage with tech leaders from around the world.
