Rabat – Converging reports have shed light on an interest from Manchester City’s side in Morocco’s Azzedine Ounahi. Others, however, suggest it is Girona who is offering the Moroccan international to boost its budget.

Foot Mercato reported that the deal could be an easy task for Manchester City, citing the player’s market value.

Ounahi’s release clause is estimated at €20 million.

“According to our information, in this deal it is mainly Girona that would like to sell its player to the English club,” the same source added.

For Girona, the priority is to boost its budget, and Manchester City is the right customer, given its financial strength.

Ounahi has established himself as a key player not only with his international clubs but also with the Atlas Lions.

The international player has been known for his technical skill, vision, and ability to make decisive tactical moves at crucial moments.

The performances contributed consistently to his teams in domestic and international leagues.

Ounahi has also been instrumental for Morocco’s national team, contributing in their major tournaments, most notably the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In the tournament, Ounahi helped the Atlas Lions achieve a historic run to the semi-finals, making Morocco the first Arab and African nation to reach that stage of the competition.

In 2025, Ounahi completed a permanent move from Olympique de Marseille to Girona for a fee of €6 million. Under the agreement, he signed a five-year contract with Girona, keeping him with the Spanish club until June 2030.

In the current season, Ounahi played in 19 LaLiga games, scoring five goals and giving three assists.
