Florida basketball’s bracketology seeding steady after 10 games

The Florida basketball program has put together a 6-4 record through 10 games so far during the 2025-26 campaign. The Gators have faced a brutal stretch of games that resulted in that subpar tally, but they still remain strongly in contention for a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Sure, there are still a few months plus an entire SEC schedule between now and March Madness, but the Orange and Blue cannot get too down. Three of those defeats came at the hands of top-five-ranked teams and all on either neutral or away courts.

This past week saw Todd Golden’s gang fall to the UConn Huskies in New York City before handing a surprisingly solid George Washington Revolutionaries squad a loss on neutral ground. It makes sense, then, that Florida remained unmoved in ESPN’s latest bracketology update, holding on to the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region.

There was no movement among the top seeds this week as the Michigan Wolverines maintained their hold on the top overall seed as well as the No. 1 spot in the Midwest. Meanwhile, the Duke Blue Devils (East), Arizona Wildcats (West) and Iowa State Cyclones (South) are also unmoved.

The Southeastern Conference added a school to its total this week with the return of the LSU Tigers into contention, who moved up from the first four out group to the last four byes category with a No. 10 seed in the Midwest Region.

Otherwise, the headliners for the SEC this time around are still the No. 3-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide and Vanderbilt Commodores, but they switched regions to the East and Midwest, respectively. Behind them are the Arkansas Razorbacks in the West with a No. 4 seed, Florida with the No. 5 seed in the Midwest, and the Tennessee Volunteers and Auburn Tigers with the No. 6 seeds in the South and West, respectively.

The rest of the bracketology includes the Georgia Bulldogs (No. 7, West), Kentucky Wildcats (No. 9, South) and the aforementioned Tigers (No. 10, Midwest). The Oklahoma Sooners reside with the first four out teams.
