Rabat – Tunis’ Club Africain secured a narrow 69-68 win over Egypt’s Al Ahly featuring a tale of dominant second game by the Tunisians today, in Salle Omnisports Moulay Abdellah, Rabat.
Club Africain seized control from the opening tip, dictating the pace through the first three quarters. At one point, they established a commanding 17-point lead, appearing to have the game comfortably in hand.
However, the fourth quarter ignited a fierce rivalry as Al Ahly mounted a stunning late-game surge and executed a rapid 11-0 scoring run to snatch a 68-66 lead, silencing the Tunisian supporters.
The momentum remained with Al Ahly until the final seven seconds, when Oussama Marnaoui rose for a clutch three-pointer that secured Club Africain’s survival.
That single basket turned a looming defeat into a 69–68 victory, proving Marnaoui’s reputation as one of the team’s most lethal players when the game is on the line.
While Al Ahly was more efficient inside the paint, with a strong performance and bench resources, they only managed to hold the lead for 9 minutes in the end, with one point separating the two giants in a classic basketball fixture.
Despite Al Ahly’s late-game momentum, Club Africain managed to hold on by a single point to claim the win.
