CAF and PUMA Unveil Special Match Ball for AFCON 2025 Final

Rabat—The African Football Confederation (CAF) and technical partner PUMA have revealed a special edition of the ITRI Official Match Ball ahead of the AFCON Morocco 2025 final.

This special commemorative ball is the perfect touch for such a massive final. It’s going to be an incredible showdown as the hosts, Morocco, take on Senegal for the title. Kick-off is Sunday, January 18, at p.m. at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Both teams will play with this special edition ball, which features striking gold accents in tribute to the finalists. This is a significant moment as Morocco aims for only its second-ever AFCON title (after 1976), while Senegal are hungry to recreate the magic of their historic 2021 title run.

The base design of the ITRI ball—which translates to “star” in the local Amazigh language—has been used throughout the tournament and incorporates traditional Moroccan zellige geometric patterns.

These intricate designs, featuring central star outlines and circular symmetry, are a unique celebration of Moroccan heritage and a potent symbol of African culture on the continent’s biggest stage.

Unlike the standard tournament ball which uses a red and green color palette, the final ball incorporates prominent gold detailing as a direct tribute to the finalist teams.

By using PUMA’s advanced Orbita 6 tech, the ball perfectly bridges the gap between ancient artistry and modern sports science. It’s built to play as good as it looks, meeting every standard required for the biggest stage in African football.
