Barcelona Set Special Ramadan Nutrition Plan for Lamine Yamal

Rabat – Barcelona’s medical staff have a special nutrition plan for Lamine Yamal to help him manage fasting during Ramadan without affecting his performance on the pitch

The 18-year-old winger will once again fast during Ramadan after doing so last year with the first team. The club wants to make sure the demands of fasting will not affect his energy level or recovery, especially with matches scheduled during the holy month.

His first game while fasting will be against Levante on Sunday at 4:15 p.m.

According to Spanish outlet AS, this type of preparation is not new at Barcelona. The club has previously created similar programs for Muslim players such as Ousmane Dembele, Franck Kessie, and Ansu Fati.

The idea is to adapt meal timing and hydration so players can maintain peak fitness while respecting their religious commitments.

The plan focuses on a balanced meal at iftar, avoiding heavy or excessive food that could disturb rest or slow recovery. Hydration is also considered crucial, with Yamal encouraged to drink enough fluids before matches to offset the hours of fasting.

Last season, Yamal managed to balance his professional duties with fasting successfully, showing that he could perform at a high level while observing Ramadan. The club expects him to handle it well again this year, but the medical team is taking extra steps to minimize any risk.

Ramadan fasting can be demanding for athletes, especially in sports that require constant energy and concentration. By tailoring his diet and recovery routine, Barcelona hopes to protect Yamal’s performance and ensure he remains sharp throughout the month.

Fans and analysts will be watching closely to see how he adapts in upcoming Matches. For Barcelona, the approach reflects both respect for the player’s faith and a professional commitment to keeping one of their brightest talents in top condition.
