AS FAR Reaches CAF Champions League Finals

Rabat AS FAR has reached the CAF Champions League Final after successfully overcoming RS Berkane with an aggregate score of 2–1 in favor of the “Leaders.”

RS Berkane secured a 1–0 victory in the second leg tonight, the result was not enough to overturn the deficit from the opening match, while AS FAR’s advancement to the final is thanks largely to their clinical performance in the first leg.

The first leg, played on April 11 at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah, saw a dominant AS FAR side secure a 2–0 win. Following a scoreless first half, Ahmed Hammoudan broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, and the victory was later sealed by Khalid Aït Ouarkhane, who found the net in the 80th minute.

The return leg was a much tighter affair. Berkane fought relentlessly to close the gap, but despite their 1–0 win on the night, AS FAR’s defensive resilience ensured they maintained their aggregate advantage, and added a high-stakes continental chapter to an already intense domestic rivalry.

Mamelodi Sundowns progressed to the final as well after a controlled 1–0 win over Espérance Sportive de Tunis, sealing a 2–0 aggregate victory.

The South Africans will now face AS FAR in a historic final as both clubs seek their second continental title.

Rabat is expected to be a massive event at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah, as the Moroccan side looks to reclaim the African throne after a 41-year wait.
