Rabat – AS FAR captain Rabie Hrimat expressed his delight after the Moroccan side booked their place in the CAF Champions League final, despite losing 1-0 to RS Berkane in the second leg yesterday at Stade Municipal de Berkane.

The team advanced thanks to their 2-0 win in the first leg, securing a historic qualification.

Speaking to beIN Sports after the match,  Hrimat described the moment as unforgettable. He congratulated the club’s management, players, and fans, saying the achievement was “a dream come true.”

The midfielder admitted he was overwhelmed with emotion, recalling how he once supported AS FAR from the stands before going on to write his own chapter in the club’s history on the pitch.

While acknowledging the joy of reaching the final, Hrimat stressed the importance of preparation for the decisive clash against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.

He noted that history remembers champions and that the team must remain fully focused to claim the title.

Hrimat also reminded his teammates of their domestic commitments, pointing out that important league fixtures still lie ahead.

He insisted that it would be disappointing to reach the continental final without remaining fully competitive in other competitions.

The captain thanked families and supporters for their constant backing, describing the qualification as a collective triumph. He called the moment “tears of men and tears of joy,” stressing the pride felt across the club.

AS FAR will face South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF  Champions League final on May 17, before hosting the return leg on May 24 at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The Moroccan side will aim to crown their campaign with a first appearance in the final since 1985.
