Rabat – Hansi Flick is set to stay at FC Barcelona, according to reports from Catalan sources. Following a largely successful run under the German coach, the club has reportedly placed a new contract on the table to keep him at the Camp Nou until 2028.

For the Barcelona leadership, securing an extension deal with Flick marks a significant milestone in the club’s long-term plans under the German manager.

According to reports from Catalunya Radio, Flick’s agent Pini Zahavi has already reached an agreement with the club to extend his stay for one additional year, a deal that will see him lead the team until 2028.

Following a season of intense pressure, this move reflects the club’s vision in ensuring long-term stability on the coaching front.

Hansi Flick officially joined FC Barcelona as head coach in May 2024, taking over from Xavi Hernández. His arrival immediately implemented an aggressive, high-pressing style of play that resonated with both the players and the fans.

Since his arrival, Flick successfully led the team to a domestic treble in his first season, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. More recently, he secured another Spanish Super Cup title in January 2026, bringing his total trophy count with the club to four as they continue to lead the league this season.

During his recent campaign, President Joan Laporta recently stated that keeping Flick was a top priority for the club. We want to renew Flick’s deal until 2028,” Laporta said.

“He’s in favor of extending as well. We will announce an agreement soon because he’s very happy here.” Barcelona views Flick as an essential element to their success. By keeping him, the club ensures their rebuilding project continues with a clear sense of direction.
