Rabat – Women in Cleantech are taking charge of Morocco’s climate innovation landscape in Drâa-Tafilalet.

On Thursday, the Targa Cultural Center in Errachidia will host a regional conference organized by the Women in Cleantech (WiC) initiative.

Women in Cleantech is a national initiative that supports women in clean technologies, entrepreneurship, and climate innovation.

The program offers capacity-building, mentorship, access to entrepreneurial networks, and opportunities for visibility on regional, national, and international levels.

The event, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will showcase women’s roles in clean technologies, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

    Empowering Women in Cleantech

In partnership with GIZ Morocco, Bridgizz leads the Women in Cleantech program, a national effort to strengthen women’s presence in the cleantech and climate innovation sectors.

Bridgizz promotes entrepreneurship and social impact across Morocco and Africa, connecting talent with institutions and international partners.

GIZ Morocco supports sustainable economic development, energy transition, environmental protection, and social inclusion projects in Morocco.

The initiative operates in three strategic regions: Fez-Meknes, Drâa-Tafilalet, and Souss-Massa. Its goal is to equip women with the knowledge, resources, and networks they need to transform ideas into projects that create tangible environmental and social impact.

A representative from Bridgizz explained, “Women in Cleantech provides the tools and opportunities for women to turn innovation into action, making them central to Morocco’s climate solutions.”

    Connecting women across the region

The Drâa-Tafilalet conference aims to unite women entrepreneurs, researchers, students, and professionals. Attendees will share experiences, discuss challenges, and exchange strategies for success in cleantech and social innovation.

The program includes two panel discussions featuring academics, institutional leaders, and entrepreneurs.

Panelists will explore the role of women in entrepreneurship and social development, as well as methods to convert innovative ideas into sustainable projects with economic and social value.

Speakers will include representatives from public institutions, universities, and local businesses, all focused on enhancing regional talent and utilizing local resources. The conference also seeks to build a local network committed to inclusive innovation and long-term environmental impact.

Through this conference, Women in Cleantech – Drâa-Tafilalet intends to raise the visibility of women in ecological transition sectors and create a platform where dialogue translates into practical, sustainable action.
