Rabat – Morocco is showcasing its agricultural heritage and high-quality local products at the 2026 edition of the Berlin International Green Week (Grüne Woche), emphasizing the quality, safety, and traceability of its terroir products and the sustained efforts of Moroccan cooperatives.

Speaking to MAP at the inauguration of the Moroccan pavilion, German Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Regional Identity, Alois Rainer, described Morocco as a “strong partner for Germany in Africa.”

He affirmed the importance of Morocco’s participation in one of the world’s largest agricultural and food exhibitions, praising the Kingdom’s efforts to address global challenges in the agricultural sector. Rainer reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to maintaining and further strengthening relations with Morocco on the basis of equality.

The Moroccan delegation, led by Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, marks Morocco’s 11th consecutive participation at Grüne Woche. It includes institutional representatives and agricultural professionals who are presenting Morocco’s agricultural expertise, local products, and cooperatives to an international audience.

The Moroccan pavilion features around twenty cooperatives from the country’s twelve regions, highlighting the richness and authenticity of Moroccan terroir. The presentation focuses on meeting the highest international standards in product quality, food safety, and traceability, reflecting the growing professionalism of Morocco’s agricultural sector.

This year’s edition of Grüne Woche, held under the theme “100 Years of Grüne Woche: Where History Meets the Future,” brings together approximately 1,600 exhibitors from over 50 countries. The event not only showcases agricultural products and innovations but also addresses contemporary global challenges, including climate protection, circular economy, resource preservation, and sustainable land use.

Grüne Woche also serves as the launch platform for the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), the leading international conference on the future of agriculture and food systems. This year, the forum is themed “Water. Crops. Our Future,” highlighting pressing issues related to sustainable food production and water management.
