Would you like to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Marrakech 2024? The city is famous for its parties and go-out spots, and many venues in the city await a special NYE programme. Therefore, traditionally, I made a curated list of locations where you will find the best places.
In Morocco, people celebrate 3 different kinds of New Year dates: the Islamic New Year, the Amazigh New Year and the traditional Western New Year celebration (by the Western Gregorian calendar). Confusing? For Muslims, months and years are typically calculated using the Western Gregorian calendar. However, the Islamic holidays and months are calculated using the Islamic or Hijri calendar.
The Islamic New Year in 2024 in Morocco will begin on the evening of July 8, 2024. Hijri, the “Islamic New Year”, is a public holiday and a big event. However, I noticed that not many Moroccans celebrate this or don’t make it a huge deal like the Western Gregorian calendar celebration. And opposite, the older generation and more traditional Moroccans don’t celebrate or pay attention to our standard 31st December celebration. It’s more a tradition for younger generation Moroccans that adapted it from tourists, expats and their relatives living abroad.

Also, Morocco celebrates the Amazigh New Year, called Yennayer, which will be celebrated on January 12, 2024. The Amazigh New Year, Yennayer brings forth unique customs, traditional music, and culinary delights.
But let’s get back to the New Year’s Eve Marrakech 2024, which will start on December 31st. NYE parties (or parties in general) in Marrakech can be expensive, so I listed places for each budget. Remember that reservation is required for all New Year’s Eve events, as places get full fast.
Kabana Rooftop
Menu: A minimum spending of 2000 DH/person is required to confirm the reservation. This amount must be paid in full. No fixed menu is imposed; you have the flexibility to consume the 2000 dirhams minimum spending as you wish, in terms of both drinks and food. The evening will be animated by top DJs. Kabana rooftop food & cocktails restaurant is one of the most trendy restaurants in Marrakech. Only a few minutes from the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, Kabana has an amazing view of the Koutoubia mosque, as well as great DJs, international vibes and good food. They will have many events during the Christmas week as well.
New Year’s 2024 Marrakech menu: 3000 DH/person (around 300 euro), excluding drinks. Reservation will be confirmed on receipt of the full payment. Doors open at 8 pm.
If you want a more upscale dinner with traditional Moroccan music and dance on the New Year’s EVE 2024 program, head to the Comptoir Darna (famous for the belly dancers’ shows), which consists of a restaurant, nightclub and patio. For New Year’s Eve 2024, they will have a beautiful evening, a fusion between East and West: traditional musicians, oriental dancers, DJs and other performers. Here is Compotoir Darna NYE menu. Palais Dar Soukkar offers international, Moroccan and Asian cuisine in an enchanting indoor “Arabian nights” atmosphere or outside under the stars of Marrakesh. This place is known for good live shows. Located 15 min drive from the city centre (on the route to Ourika Valley), it also has a lounge if you want to enjoy a drink in a relaxing and chic spirit. By the way. Dar Soukkar in Arabic means”Sugar factory “. For New Year’s Eve 2024 in Marrakech, they will offer a big live show with musicians, dancers etc. The full programme with Meniu will be announced soon.

Azar is a stylish Lebanese and Moroccan restaurant with live music, belly dancers show a lounge and a shisha bar. The perfect place to discover the oriental way in Marrakech. For New Year’s Eve 2024 in Marrakech programme: Traditional musicians, oriental dancers, DJs and performers for an unforgettable evening. The full menu is here. It’s bit smaller place than Comptoir Darna or Dar Soukkar, so for dances, you would really need to cozy squeeze.

Entrepotes is a lounge, bar and tapas restaurant with good vibes, setting, and music. My favourite part of Entrepotes is the inside garden. If you book in advance, ask to have a place there. If you want a nice dinner for an affordable price (compared to other places), a cosy setting, mingle with locals, head to Enrepotes and for dances, continue to some nightclubs. They are often full, so make sure you book in advance.

If you are in the mood for dinner, dance, and live music, then dress nicely and head to Épicurien. Épicurien is a blend of chic and glamour: a restaurant and a modern ultra lounge. A live band will start after midnight and before you will have plenty of other entertainment. Before entering Epicurien, you will pass the famous Casino area, so be ready for a night of entertainment.
New Year’s Eve option: dinner with live band, oriental dancers and confetti – 1350MAD per person.
Kosy bar in Marrakech is located in Medina, next to the entrance to its Kasbah district. It has a great location, as Kosy bar is in a square, so a taxi can drop you almost next to – no hustle navigating through the narrow Medina streets. It’s a rooftop restaurant and bar serving Moroccan, International and Japanese fusion cuisine. Kosybar is set over several floors in the corner of Place des Ferblantiers in the Medina, with an indoor bar and restaurant on the lower floors, and, best of all, a lovely and cosy rooftop terrace up top.
